plans

Hi everyone,

I’ve finally published the latest update! This one introduces two new mechanics, but most of the work went into rebuilding the game's infrastructure. I had to make significant changes because the old system couldn’t support the new mechanics I plan to add.

I also revised my development roadmap. Previously, the direction and future mechanics were unclear, which caused confusion and delays. Now, every planned mechanic is clearly defined, and I have a structured development plan for the next 4–5 months. My goal is to release a new level every two weeks, though some weeks might be delayed due to bug fixes or visual polish.

What’s next? The game will eventually span 11 distinct ages—we already have the first two. The journey starts with early human civilization and will continue all the way to the space age.

Each age will introduce unique mechanics (like Trade, Diplomacy, etc.) that are interconnected with previous ones. These systems will influence each other to provide deeper strategic gameplay. Thanks to the new infrastructure, this level of complexity is now possible.

With the ages defined, mechanics outlined, and technical foundation ready, I believe upcoming updates will be developed and released much faster.

A new visual feature in the works: I'm also planning to add a dynamic city view at the bottom of the screen. It won’t be interactive, but it will visually evolve based on your development progress. It’s still in the planning phase, as it requires artwork—and since I’m a solo developer, that’s a challenge. I’ll experiment with AI-generated illustrations first. If the results are good, I’ll move forward. If not, this feature will be postponed until I can work with a proper artist (which may take some time).

Thanks for your continued support and feedback—it helps CivRise grow with each update!
